Green week is off to a great start in Havant

ENVIRONMENTALISTS of the future wowed green campaigners with their knowledge.

The pupils from Trosnant Infants School, in Havant, visited the Havant Goes Greener roadshow in Emsworth while they were on a bike ride with their teachers.

The roadshow kicked off a week of events taking place across the borough to raise awareness of how people can make small changes to their lives to make a big difference to the environment.

The youngsters quizzed Ray Cobbett, from Havant Friends of the Earth, on the reasons behind the event.

He said: ‘I was impressed with their inquisitiveness because, of course, they are the environmentalists of the future.

‘They seemed very keen to hear about what we are doing.’

Following Monday’s roadshow there was a greener driving workshop and the grand opening at The Spring with a specially-created comedy called Bottled by the award-winning theatre company Soop.
